Jan Dekkers winner of the Noordhofprijs in the Metal category

Tuesday 7 November marked the 34th edition of the Noordhof Prize, an award presented annually to the best professionals in the Brainport region. Stichting Bevordering Vakmanschap has been awarding the Noordhof Prize since 1986 to the best craftsman/woman in the categories of construction, metalwork, mechatronics, junior vocational talent, and lateral entry.

Full of pride, VDL Groep can say that this year four VDL colleagues have been nominated, namely: Aurelio Gunneweg (VDL ETG Eindhoven), Jan Dekkers (VDL Toolmaker), Jorgos Passalis (VDL NSA Metal) and Marcel Meeuwis (VDL ETG Eindhoven). As the icing on the cake, Jan Dekkers received the Noordhof Prize in the metal category.

The professional jury described Jan as follows: "This candidate is a consummate professional, always striving to find creative solutions to problems. He is a go-to person for his colleagues and a passionate mentor for young people, but certainly also for his future colleagues. Even training institutes regularly utilize his expertise in setting up and executing specialized courses. He has been active in this industry for years and is still very enthusiastic."
