The acquisition of Sintecs will allow VDL Groep to further expand its position in high-quality electronics. This strategic move supports VDL’s ambition to offer customers a one-stop-shop partner solution for mechanics, software and electronics. Sintecs, based in Hengelo, designs complex digital electronics for customers in various high-tech industries, such as telecommunications, automotive, medical, energy and defence.

Commissioned by De Alliantie Ontwikkeling, VDL De Meeuw is building 286 relocatable homes in the new Bovenduist neighbourhood in Amersfoort. Production will start in early 2026, and the building modules will be delivered and installed between March and July 2026. Once the first buildings have been constructed, galleries, balconies and facades will be added. The homes will then be finished and prepared for use. The municipality of Amersfoort and OntwikkelBedrijf Vathorst (OBV) are collaborating on this project. After completion, housing association De Alliantie will rent out the homes.

Production for the Ministry of Defence at VDL in Born has officially commenced. This involves the production of unmanned vehicles for Milrem Robotics, batteries for military use for Tulip Tech and drones for DeltaQuad. Minister Ruben Brekelmans signed the contracts with the three companies. The equipment and resources produced at VDL will strengthen not only the Dutch armed forces, but also those of Ukraine.

VDL Bus Group presented its new coach at Busworld, Europe's largest trade fair for the bus and coach industry, on Thursday 2 October 2025. The VDL Futura 3 is the result of years of ongoing development and marks an important step in long-distance transport for passenger, operator and driver. The Futura 3 represents a major leap forward in terms of lifespan costs for the vehicle, driven in particular by fuel savings of up to 15 per cent.

The Province of Limburg and VDL Groep are investing millions of euros in stimulating innovation, employment, and quality of life at and around the VDL site in Born. The Province and the industrial family business from Eindhoven have set aside no less than 25 million euros for this purpose. For VDL, this amounts to 10 million euros. The Provincial Executive of Limburg has proposed to the Provincial Council that 15 million euros be set aside for the future development of the industrial estate and related developments. Of this amount, €5 million can be spent on additional nature and quality of life in the areas adjacent to the site in the municipalities of Echt-Susteren and Sittard-Geleen.

With the launch of Futura 3 and the integration of VDL Bus & Coach and VDL Van Hool, VDL Bus Group explicitly takes the next step and shows the future of mobility at Busworld 2025.

The first six months of 2025 were in line with expectations for VDL Groep. Sales were similar to the previous year and earnings have recovered. Excluding the Car Assembly division, the first six months of 2025 saw growth in turnover. Despite an uncertain outlook due to geopolitical instability and cost pressures, turnover and earnings are expected to remain stable in the second half of the year.

VDL Groep has extended its long-term sponsorship contracts with PSV and FC Eindhoven for another 5 years. This means that the sponsorship contracts with these professional football organisations will continue until at least 2030. The collaboration between the family-owned industrial company based in Eindhoven and PSV began in 1988, while the collaboration with FC Eindhoven began in 2000. VDL Groep is one of the companies that enjoys the longest affiliation with both the FC Eindhoven and PSV clubs. The announcement of the contract extension coincides with the ‘Lichtstadderby’. This evening at the Philips Stadium, around 4,000 VDL colleagues will be attending the annual showdown between PSV and FC Eindhoven ahead of the new football season.

Battolyser Systems and VDL Hydrogen Systems are teaming up to launch the first fully flexible electrolyser for large-scale industrial applications. The combined company will develop and market this electrolyser with VDL Groep as its manufacturing partner. The electrolyser will produce green hydrogen with electricity generated by solar or wind power.

Through its acquisition of Crux Agribotics, VDL Groep has further strengthened its position in Foodtech, one of the growth markets for this family-owned industrial company based in Eindhoven. Crux’s ‘smart robot’ uses data and AI (artificial intelligence) to classify, sort and pack fruit and vegetables. In the process, Crux is also contributing to the automation of global fruit and vegetable horticulture. Robotisation is helping growers save on labour costs and reduce food waste. The data generated is also analysed to further optimise the cultivation process. Crux Agribotics is based in Eindhoven and has 60 employees.

For the sake of our security, it is imperative that we rapidly strengthen our armed forces. To this end, investing in the European and Dutch defence industries is crucial. In order to scale up national production capacity, the Dutch Ministry of Defence is leasing a number of production halls from VDL Groep in Born. The lease agreement is being signed today by Minister Brekelmans and VDL President & CEO Van der Leegte.

In the hunt for their 25th national championship, PSV will have a brand new team coach to transport the Eindhoveners to their matches starting with the 2019/2020 season. The deluxe 13.9-metre long Futura was presented to Kupers Touringcars today and at the same time officially presented to PSV's supporters, players and staff. 30 supporters, the lucky winners of a special PSV contest, picked up the vehicle at VDL Bus & Coach in Valkenswaard. The team coach was officially presented to players and staff at the Herdgang, PSV's training complex.

VDL Groep has won the 2019 Dutch Innovation Award. This award is a recognition of the innovative strength and social impact of this family company, which has its head office in Eindhoven. VDL was awarded the innovation award for its new pioneering solutions and technologies, its focus on its employees, entrepreneurship and cooperation. The 2019 Dutch Innovation Award will be presented during De Wereld van Morgen, the TV programme being broadcast on AVROTROS this evening from 8.30 pm on NPO1.

Public transport in Limburg (The Netherlands) must be fully electric by 2026. This goal of the Province of Limburg is now yet another step closer. With the delivery of 55 electric regional buses, VDL Bus & Coach is working with transport company Arriva on the transition towards zero-emission bus transport.

The DAF CF Electric VDL E-Power has been voted Green Truck Logistics Solution 2019. On the eve of the Transport Logistic trade fair in Munich, leading German trade magazines VerkehrsRundschau and TRUCKER also praise container carrier Contargo for being the first in Germany to commission DAF's CF Electric VDL E-Power. The two fully electrified field-test trucks are transporting containers in the inland port of Duisburg. The Green Truck Logistics Solution Award is a prestigious award for the deployment of promising emerging technologies for innovative, sustainable logistics in Europe.
