Meet YVE

YVE stands for ‘Young VDL Employee’ and was founded with the aim of connecting colleagues within VDL Groep. We do this by organizing events that focus on knowledge sharing and getting to know each other. YVE members can use these events to further expand their network within VDL Groep and to gain a better understanding of the activities of other VDL companies. Strength through cooperation!

YVE focuses on VDL employees aged 18 to 35 who would like to get to know each other and VDL Groep better. YVE events usually take place outside working hours.

YVE events

Every year, YVE organises around four to five events. These can vary from a tour of one of the VDL companies, a networking event, working together on a business case or a “colleague tour” with one of the board members. Once a year, we organise a “major” event with a more extensive program. We also always try to include a social component in the program. This helps to strengthen the sense of togetherness within the group.

As a member of YVE, you will receive invitations to all events. You can only participate if you have registered for an event. We apply this rule for catering reasons and sometimes also because of available capacity. Please also note that your participation in the events does not fall within working hours. If an event takes place during your working hours, you are responsible for making arrangements with your manager.

How do I become a member of YVE?

You can register for YVE if you are employed by VDL. You can do this in MyVDL via the “YVE deelname” tile under the “overig” tab. Once you have registered via MyVDL, you will be added to the YVE member list and will receive invitations to all events by email.

Is participation in YVE events free of charge?

Yes. There is no personal contribution required to participate in YVE events. Of course, costs are incurred, so we do expect you to cancel if you are unable to attend. This will allow your place to be given to someone else.

I registered for an event, but I can't attend after all. What should I do?

Please cancel your registration by sending an email to yve@vdl.nl. Sometimes we have a limited number of places available and your place may be given to someone else. In addition, we can take this into account with regard to catering and other costs incurred.
